Ox referring to the standard works which treat of the above subject, it is not difficult to meet with clear and accurate descriptions of the appearances of, and the appropriate treatment for, this peculiar disease when of very long standing, when it has penetrated to the bones and ruined the articulations. But of this disease in an earlier stage, Avhen only a few months have elapsed since the first symptoms have appeared, it is not easy to find a good description, nor an account of any appropriate treatment for it at this period.
